ACR 82 would punish moral students

Imagine you're 8 years old and are in public school in California. It's the beginning of the school day and you're standing in line with other children. You see a boy walking up dressed in girl's clothes. Shocked, you exclaim to your friend next to you, "Peter's dressed like a girl!" You both start nervously giggling.

Suddenly the principal is there. She leans into your faces, points to the large, double-sided sign at the school entrance that reads "This is a Discrimination-Free Zone." "No discrimination!" she barks. "You will respect others' gender identities! Come with me!"

The principal grabs your wrist and your friend's wrist, and marches to the school office. Sitting on a bench, you overhear the irate administrator on the phone talking to your mother. You're stunned when you hear you've just been suspended for "intolerance!"

Believe it or not, this could become a reality -- in elementary grades, junior high and high school -- if
Assembly Concurrent Resolution 82 passes the California Legislature. ACR 82 would pressure all California government-run schools to become official "Discrimination-Free Zones." Yet reverse discrimination would soon follow.

Under ACR 82, participating schools will "enact procedures" against the free speech of students with traditional moral values. By labeling children's support of traditional marriage, natural gender roles, the Bible, etc., as "hate," "intolerance," and "discrimination," ACR 82 would punish students -- as well as teachers and parents on campus -- who simply support natural family values.

ACR 82 targets "all public education institutions, prekindergarten through university campuses." This measure is on the Senate floor after passing committee with the yes votes of the committee's Democrats and Republican Abel Maldonado.

Only fools say in their hearts,
"There is no God."
They are corrupt, and their actions are evil;
not one of them does good!
