Congressman wants Homosexual Chaplains for Air Force Academy

The Colorado Springs Gazette Telegraph reports that homosexual Congressman Jared Polis (D-CO) has called for the military to
assign homosexual chaplains to work at the Air Force Academy (AFA) to recruit college-aged future officers into the homosexual lifestyle.

"The Academy should consider
hiring gay and lesbian chaplains and said cadets should be welcome to bring 'the date of their choice' to Air Force Academy balls and other social functions.  It's more than tolerance and respect," [it's blatant promotion of homosexuality], the gay Congressman requested from a Board of Visitors meeting at the Academy.

AFA Superintendent Lt. Gen. Michael Gould did not oppose the idea, claiming he's ready to repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell by enforcing strict behavioral standards.  "If people cross that line, on either side, there will be disciplinary consequences to go along with it," he said.  [In other words,
Christian cadets will be punished for voicing their free speech rights  if they dare to quote the Bible near homosexuals, or voice opposition to same-sex kissing in uniform on the dance floor.]

Adding insult to injury, the
New York Times began an advocacy campaign this week to replace Christian chaplains with atheist chaplains, to meet the "religious" counseling needs of atheists and secular humanists.  [That's oxymoronic.  And psychologists already do that, but now they want to take job quotas away from Christian chaplains.]
"Joining the chaplain corps is part of a broader campaign by atheists to win official acceptance in the military. Such recognition
would make it easier for [atheist organizations] to raise money and meet on military bases," the New York Times advocated in their "unbiased" reporting.

This is yet another attack on the military chaplaincy, a direct effort to prevent Christian chaplains from meeting the needs of Christian troops, by reducing our numbers, and
replacing Evangelical or Catholic chaplains (who serve the vast majority of troops who self-identify as Christian before joining the service) with homosexual or atheist chaplains (who represent less than 1% of troops entering the service, but could triple after recruiting by homosexual or atheist chaplains).  Let's defend our Christian chaplains today...

Three independent news sources confirm our concerns, writing here and here, that conservative evangelical chaplains are being asked or forced to leave the service if they cannot "reconcile" with open homosexual sin.

Lt. Col. Carleton Birch, a spokesman for the Army chief of chaplains, confirmed that already
one Army chaplain has left the service over the pending repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell (DADT), which makes two conservative chaplains (the other in the Navy as reported by CBN News below); both have quit rather than endure the coming persecution.

1) Lawyer for Alliance Defense Fund (and Senior VP) Gary McCaleb says: "Military trainers are already telling active duty chaplains that if they are 'unable to reconcile repeal of DADT' with their Christian faith, then they 'may request voluntary separation….' [In other words,]
Christians, go home."  He notes how Obama ignored the pleas of 66 retired chaplains warning of persecution of chaplains by a militant homosexual agenda.

2) Religion Reporter Adelle Banks highlighted another group who has analyzed the ongoing Pentagon "re-education" effort to repeal (DADT), warning that chaplains are being threatened to compromise their beliefs.  "Critics familiar with the Army presentation, however, say
the military is essentially telling chaplains who are theologically conservative that they are not welcome.  'U.S. Army now warning chaplains: If you don't like the homosexual agenda, get out!' reads a headline on the website of Mass Resistance, a [Christian] group based in Waltham, Mass."

3) Elaine Donnelly, president of the Center for Military Readiness, an independent group that strongly opposes gays serving openly in the military, predicts more departures when the policy is lifted.  "The training is engaging in a form of
strategic deception," she said. "I think active-duty people are being reassured nothing will change. That is an unrealistic expectation. Many [chaplains] may be saying that now they will not leave voluntarily," she said, "but that doesn't account for those who would be forced out involuntarily when all of these conflicts become more apparent."

Let's defend our chaplains and troops today.

The Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN News-700 Club) has reported at least one unnamed Navy Chaplain has recently quit the service, and many other Army chaplains feel threatened by the Obama Administration, who will limit their First Amendment freedoms by forcing open homosexuality upon the military.

In two short videos (watch both by clicking image below), CBN confirms what I've said all along, that
military chaplains religious freedoms will be curtailed outside of Sunday chapel.

"Undersecretary of Defense Clifford Stanley told Congress last week that chaplains will still be able to talk about their objections to homosexuality.
But those objections will be limited to specific times and places," CBN reported.  And Vice Adm. William Gortney said chaplains who "can't come to grips" with an openly gay troop's issues might have to let another [pro-homosexual] chaplain provide counseling.

"Army chaplains have expressed concerns about the repeal of the military's 'Don't ask, Don't Tell' policy, saying it violates their rights to free speech and free exercise of religion."

At least one unnamed "Navy chaplain has already resigned because of the Obama policy," reports CBN news.

Congressman Joe Wilson (R-SC) vowed to defend military chaplains free speech:

ONGRESSMAN WILSON: Will it be monitored at all, complaints by chaplains as to -- if they feel that they've been chilled in their ability to serve?

If that chaplain can't come to grips with dealing with the service member's particular challenge because of the service member's beliefs, then we'll get a chaplain that will be able to meet [the homosexual's] needs.

[Chaps' Analysis: Liberal chaplains will be promoted, but conservatives will be shown the door, in duty assignments, evaluations, and promotions.  That's why 65 evangelical chaplains are already suing the military.

CONGRESSMAN WILSON: And I'm particularly hopeful that, as you proceed, that there will be regulations and guidelines or that could be understood by chaplains so they don't feel that, in fact, they have truly lost their First Amendment rights.  And so I really will be monitoring this and would like to see what's done.

[Wow!  After 61,000 fax petitions, finally we have a Congressional promise to stand up for Chaplains' rights.  Let's support Joe Wilson by petitioning all 435 Congressmen and 100 Senators to demand tough laws protecting chaplains and troops freedom from homosexual harassment...]

The Washington Times reports that all four branches of the military have begun sending pro-homosexual training material to 2.2 million active and reserve troops concerning the permissibility of illicit sexual behavior in public.  The training includes explicit examples concerning "public displays of affection" between homosexuals.

For example, the training asks what to do if an officer sees two male Marines kissing in a shopping mall:

"Situation," it begins. "You are the Executive Officer of your unit. While shopping at the local mall over the weekend,
you observe two junior male Marines in appropriate civilian attire assigned to your unit kissing and hugging in the food court."

"Issue: Standards of Conduct," the training continues.  "Is this within standards of personal and professional conduct?"

"Answer:  If the observed behavior crosses
acceptable boundaries as defined in the standards of conduct for your unit and the Marine Corps, then an appropriate correction should be made. Your assessment should be made without regard to sexual orientation."

[Chaps' comment:  In other words, so long as the two men wear
"appropriate civilian attire" and their public kissing does not cross "acceptable boundaries," they they should NOT be corrected, and their deviant public sexual behavior should be ignored, according to the new training being forced upon our troops.  Indeed anyone who objects to the kissing could soon be disciplined for "intolerance" or "disrespect" of open homosexuality.]

The training further states Marines who object to forced service alongside open homosexuality on religious grounds are NOT protected:

"Marines are expected to obey lawful orders and could be subject to discipline or adverse administrative action if they refuse orders,
even if such refusal is based on strong, sincerely held, moral or religious beliefs," the briefing states.  The phrase "lawful orders" will mean whatever the commander wants, regardless of First Amendment religious protections of troops rights.  [I know this from personal experience.  See below.]

Let's take a stand for our Marines who object to open sin based upon religious grounds, by demanding Congress issue strong religious protections of our Christian troops...

But here's the good news:  The homosexualization of our U.S. military can still be stopped or delayed, thanks to a new measure proposed by Congressman Duncan Hunter Jr. (R-CA), who just introduced legislation to expand the certification requirement to include input from each of the four service chiefs.

Currently President Obama's new law repealing the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" (DADT) policy allowing open homosexual service cannot go into effect until 3 people, the President, Secretary of Defense, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff all certify the troops have been trained and military readiness will not be hurt.  But Congressman Hunter's new proposal would expand that certification authority to 7 people, including all 4 top Generals in the Army, Air Force, Marines, and the top Admiral in the Navy.

"Congress could at this point delay or derail the end to the military's gay ban. Rep. Duncan Hunter has introduced legislation that would expand the certification requirement to include input from each of the service chiefs, which, if enacted into law, could disrupt the repeal process," reports the pro-homosexual newspaper Washington Blade.

Last year all four top officers testified against repeal of DADT.  If these same four officers were empowered to "not certify" that open homosexuality is safe for our troops unit cohesion, then the old 1993 DADT policy could remain the law forever.

Army Threatens Chaplains with Court-Martial for opposing Homosexuality

The newly released Pentagon plan to purge Christians entitled "DADT Report: Support Plan for Implementation" specifically requires Christian chaplains to "reconcile" with homosexual sin or face administrative discharge. It repeats twice on pages 24 and 57: "If a chaplain is unable to reconcile serving with or caring for gay and lesbian Service members with his or her faith, the chaplain may request that the relevant endorsing agency withdraw its ecclesiastical endorsement for him or her. This would trigger an administrative separation under DoDI 1304.28."  This "plan" alone should alarm the new conservative Congress to the need for bold protection of Chaplains' rights.

ARMY TRAINING BRIEF TO CHAPLAINS (P.9): "You remain obligated to follow orders that involve interaction with others who are homosexual even if an unwillingness to do so is based on strong, sincerely held moral or religious beliefs. As expressed in the Manual for Courts-Martial regarding a Soldier's obligation to obey orders: 'the dictates of a person's conscience, religion, or personal philosophy cannot justify or excuse the disobedience of an otherwise lawful order.'"

[Chaps' Comment: the phrase 'lawful order' will mean ANYTHING ANTI-CHRISTIAN COMMANDERS WISH and judges will back up the Commander, not the Chaplain.  I know from personal experience, when a Navy Judge said my Navy Commander could punish me, a chaplain, for disobeying "lawful orders" because I was quote "worshiping in public."]

The U.S. Army has officially threatened military chaplains they must either embrace the new openly homosexual military, resign from service, or face court-martial for their "religious, conscience" objections.  The Pray In Jesus Name Project has obtained leaked copies (unintended for media disclosure) of a private briefing given to chaplains, threatening them with court-martial unless they compromise their Christian message.

Christian Chaplains who speak out against homosexual sin can be accused of "harassment" by homosexuals and face disciplinary action simply for voicing their religious views outside the "context" of their religious ministry.  The following two slides reveal the Army's shocking warnings to their chaplains.

[Chaps' interpretation: The phrase "vocational reflection" is not-so-subtle code language meaning "reconcile with homosexuality or find another line of work."  The phrase "do NOT tolerate harassment" is code language for "don't speak against sin, for ANY reason, or you the Chaplain will be disciplined for quoting the Bible, and the homosexual protected."]   More fine print from the text from the Army's presentation is directly quoted as follows:

ARMY: "You may, in appropriate circumstances and within the limitations of law and policy, express your moral or religious beliefs regarding sexual orientation. However, you may NOT make statements detrimental to good order and discipline and must obey lawful orders. You do NOT have the right to refuse duty or duty assignments based on a moral objection to another's sexual orientation."

[Chaps' Interpretation: the phrase 'appropriate circumstances' will soon mean ONLY in the context of Sunday chapel, thus Chaplains can be punished for private counseling, or speech outside of chapel, or speech inside chapel on Monday through Saturday, just as I was punished in writing 3 times for quoting the Bible in optional Saturday chapel services.]

Bottom Line:  Army Chaplains will now be punished at court-martial for "disobedience" of "lawful orders" if they dare to express their religious views about homsexual sin outside of Sunday chapel.  Let's take a stand for chaplains and Christian troops...

Friends, our Christian chaplains and troops are under fire, now more than ever, unless Congress passes strong laws to protect their free religious expression.  Let's take a stand today, and demand Congress pass laws protecting their religious rights.

God Bless you, in Jesus' name,

Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt
