Happy Easter!

Last Supper

Because He Lives

Mommy Matters

moiDear Moms -

To develop a rich and vibrant faith, our children need more than church, Sunday School and CCD.  They need parents who connect the dots for them - by bringing their faith into their homes and daily lives.

The family is called the Domestic Church because it is the smallest and most intimate community of Christian faith and practice.  As Jesus said, "Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them." It is up to us parents to do our best to make our children aware of and grateful for His presence, to help them grow in virtue and dedication to their faith.

Holy Week is an intense period in the life of the church, with vivid remembrances of the events leading up to the Crucifixion and Resurrection. There are traditions we can observe at home as well, which - as Montessori taught - will make the abstract more real for our children nce of faith, in addition to building strong family memories and bonds.

Remember, young children learn through their senses (and actually we adults thrive on that input too!), so I am including many resources here your family can share.

But most of all, my prayer for you is that this Easter will draw us closer to Christ and eager to become more like Him.  The process of parenting can teach us much about laying down our lives for others - if we will surrender.

And by surrender, I mean simply allowing ourselves to be carried on the stream of God's will.  Once you get used to it, it makes life so much easier!

Have a blessed Easter!

Meditate on the price Jesus paid for us.

You can find them in any Catholic church and  walk through the 14 Stations any time.

You can also find them online and contemplate them yourself or with your children.

I love this site with relevant and intelligent meditations by Sister Angelica.   I pray they challenge, bless and draw you closer to Jesus.

May Easter bring you and your family closer to each other and closer to Jesus!

Blessings to you all.  Please pray for me as I pray for you!
