Bezos and other elites cannot be allowed to redefine marriage for all Washington

July 27, 2012

We need your help right now more than ever.

Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos has just pledged $2.5 million to impose same-sex marriage in our state—the highest donation ever given by an individual to redefine marriage.

You and I cannot sit by and watch as marriage is redefined—will you rise up and help us preserve marriage in Washington by giving sacrificially right now?

The stakes could not be higher in this race.  Let's make sure we are the ones who determine what our children need—not a few people with a lot of money. If activists have their way in Washington, marriage will be a genderless institution, and our children and grandchildren will be the ones who suffer.

Will you join us as we demonstrate that we the people of Washington State will not stand by as marriage is redefined for us? If so, please give $2,500, $1000, $500, or $100 right now. We don't need to match our opponents dollar-for-dollar, but to conduct a successful campaign does take significant financial resources.  Please give generously today.

ALSO, please forward this email to five of your friends and encourage them to give.

We must rally Washingtonians together for the cause of marriage so that marriage is preserved for our children and grandchildren. This is not about equality or fairness; same-sex couples already have the same legal rights as married couples.  Our opponents' goals are to make marriage genderless, to de-emphasize the unique roles of mothers and fathers, and to completely remake the institution of marriage.

Will you join us in the fight to preserve marriage as the union between one man and one woman by giving today?

Let's send a message loud and clear that the people of Washington want to preserve marriage, and we will stand together to halt the effort to redefine the family and remake the institution of marriage.

Already a record number of you signed the petition to preserve marriage, so I am confident Washington wants to preserve marriage.  However, it will still take financial sacrifice to preserve what we know is best for our children and their futures.

Are you with us? Please make your generous commitment today.

Joseph Backholm, Chairman
