Another Family Owned Business Falls Victim to Same-Sex Marriage Lawsuit

Maryland Marriage Alliance Newsletter
Dear MMA Supporter,

Unfortunately, another family owned business with deeply held religious beliefs has fallen victim to a lawsuit and attacks for believing that marriage is defined as a union between one man and one woman.

Gay activists continue to cry that there are no consequences to same-sex marriage laws.  The Giffords, owners of Liberty Ridge Farms in upstate New York would disagree.  In the last few days, they have learned that a lesbian couple that wanted to have their wedding at Liberty Ridge is suing because the Gifford's religious beliefs do not support same-sex marriage.  Every encounter recorded with the Giffords indicates that they treated the lesbian couple with respect while continuing to stand by their religious beliefs.

Their family friendly Facebook page is being attacked with intolerant comments.

Because same-sex marriage is legal in New York, the Giffords may be added to the ever-growing list of small family owned businesses that have to shut their doors under the burden of court costs, attorney's fees, and an exorbitant financial judgment.

WE MUST HAVE YOUR SUPPORT! If Question 6 passes in Maryland, people who object to same-sex marriage will face the same type of attacks.  We already see it happening. Dr. Angela McCaskill the administrator at Gallaudet University who was suspended for merely signing the marriage referendum petition has not been allowed to return to her job.  If a dedicated college administrator with over 24 years of service to her job is not allowed to engage in the democratic process on this basic level before Question 6 becomes law, how will religious liberties ever survive if Question 6 passes?

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has committed to spending over HALF A MILLION DOLLARS to support same-sex marriage campaigns.  We can combat his millions if each of you do your part and make a leadership contribution today.

We need your support today to spread the news.  A leadership contribution of $75, $100, $250, $500 or $1000 will help us get commercials on the air to share the truth with your neighbors.

Together, we can make a difference.
