Dear Friend,

In his book, The Audacity Of Hope, Barack Obama once laid out his view on traditional marriage as shared by the strong majority of Americans, saying:

"I believe that American society can choose to carve out a special place for the union of a man and a woman as the unit of child rearing most common to every culture."

Later, when running for re-election Obama still recognized the goodwill of people who support traditional marriage, saying:

"Folks who feel very strongly that marriage should be defined narrowly as-- between a man and a woman-- many of them are not coming at it from a mean-spirited perspective. They're coming at it because they care about families."

Moreover, Obama insisted that the question whether to redefine marriage should be left to individual states, not the federal government.  He said:

"I didn't want to nationalize the issue… Different communities are arriving at different conclusions, at different times. And I think that's a healthy process and a healthy debate... I think it is a mistake to try to make what has traditionally been a state issue into a national issue."

But, despite all this, today President Obama buckled under intense pressure from the homosexual "marriage" activists, reversed course, and is taking the unprecedented step of ordering the Federal Government to intervene
against California's Proposition 8 in the Supreme Court!

Obama's legal brief, which will be filed today in
the Supreme Court by the Solicitor General of the United States, goes against everything Obama has said before on this issue.  Not only does it impugn the motives of millions of Americans who continue to support traditional marriage... it is a stunning declaration of war against the longstanding meaning of marriage and its obvious ties to society's interest in both mothers and fathers raising the next generation.

So what happens now?

Our Prop 8 Legal Defense Team has just 20 days to prepare a detailed and vigorous response to the Solicitor General's frontal assault on Prop 8.  Our team of attorneys, paralegals and support staff are standing by to get right to work as soon as President Obama's brief is filed later today.

You can help us fight back in a couple of ways.  First, please continue to offer your prayers for support and guidance in fighting this monumental battle to save traditional marriage as only between a man and a woman.

And second, please support Prop 8's legal defense
right now with your tax-deductible and confidential donation of $1000, $500, $150, $50 or even just $25.

The hearing before the Supreme Court is coming up fast, on Tuesday, March 26th.  As you can see, time is of the essence, as we have just a short window of opportunity remaining to prepare Prop 8's final defense and--as a result of Obama's declaration of war against Prop 8 today--wage battle on yet another front.

We are so thankful for your past support, and sincerely hope you will stand firm with us again in the final hours of this epic legal battle to save traditional marriage.

Thank you for your consideration.

Urgently yours,
