What is wrong with Mrs. Clinton's comment?

“L.G.B.T. Americans are our colleagues, our teachers, our soldiers, our friends, our loved ones, and they are full and equal citizens and deserve the rights of citizenship,’’ Hillary Clinton said in a six-minute video, using the abbreviation for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender. “That includes marriage.’’

  1. Her statement makes no sense. “rights of citizenship”?

She included all the sexual orientations and transgender, (however you define that term.) A transgender Report [i]admits, “Gender identity and expression are complex and layered characteristics with almost as many variations as there are individuals.”  The surveyed  respondents listed 25 ways to described themselves: Transgender, MTF(male to female), transsexual, gender non-conforming, FTM (female to male), genderqueer, two-spirit, cross-dresser, androgynous, third gender, femaine male, masculine female or butch, intersex, drag performer (King/Queen), Ag or Aggressive, transdyke, manusahine, FTX, Boi, questioning, stud, both-neither, princess and bender.

  1. Is she admitting that bisexuals will have to choose a sexual orientation in order to get married? Or is she advocating multiple people to get married? Or are bisexuals not allowed to get married because they have to choose and she does not believe in choosing a sexual orientation? Definition of bisexual from the Am. Psychological Association[ii] indicates “bisexual (having emotional, romantic, or sexual attractions to both men and women).” This same APA made a point that sexual orientation refers to an “enduring pattern of emotional, romantic, and/or sexual attractions to men, women, or both sexes.”

  1. Will the bisexual not be a “full” or an “equal citizen” if he/she is not allowed to follow “who they are”?

  1. Is she admitting that transgender (transsexuals) cannot change their sexual orientation before they can get married? According to the Am. Psychological Association, a male who thinks they are a female does not loose their male sexual drive, unless they change their sexual orientation! [iii]

Does Mrs. Clinton need to get her facts straight?

“Answers to Your Questions About Transgender Individuals and Gender Identity What is the relationship between transgender and sexual orientation?

The great majority of cross-dressers are biological males, most of whom are sexually attracted to women. People generally experience gender identity and sexual orientation as two different things. Sexual orientation refers to one’s sexual attraction to men, women, both, or neither, whereas gender identity refers to one’s sense of oneself as male, female, or transgender. Usually people who are attracted to women prior to transition continue to be attracted to women after transition, and people who are attracted to men prior to transition continue to be attracted to men after transition. That means, for example, that a biologic male who is attracted to females will be attracted to females after transitioning, and she may regard herself as a lesbian.
