Growth into Manhood: Resuming the Journey by Alan Medinger

http://pfox.org/Excerpt-Medinger-Growth-Manhood.html
“I am a man and I look to find my completion in woman. But what if a man does not have the inner sense that he is a man? Will he experience the same attractions to a woman? Will she be his “other”? No, and this is critical. If he feels that he is not complete as a man, his first longing will be not for women but for complete manhood; he will be drawn to the masculine in other males. This will be his “other.” This will be his missing rib. This will be his means of attaining completion. It follows, then, that the development of our manhood – finding completion in ourselves – will do great things both to decrease our same-sex attractions and to start drawing us sexually to women.”

The Battle for Normality by GERARD VAN DEN AARDWEG, PH.D.

http://pfox.org/Battle-for-Normality.html

“After reading Aardweg's book, I decided that it basically came down to this question: I either had been "different" since adolescence because I had been gay all the time, though without explicitly knowing that (that was the solution that my "gay side" wanted to prove), or I had been "different," in the  sense of lonely, feeling inferior in comparison to "real boys", and that had  caused my gayness (Aardweg's position). I went up and down for a long time, but finally I guess the most objective part of my mind just admitted that Aardweg's position was right. That admission enabled me to break thru the shame and pain of having felt a "failure" and hiding it behind an overcompensation screen of intelligence. Subsequently I began to make big and remarkable emotional leaps, which would, over a period of some years, result in the fading away of most of my homosexual feelings. I never suppressed my homosexual feelings, I rather solved the emotional problems underneath them: suppressing would have been fully impossible.”
