Richmond, Va.—Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays (PFOX, www.pfox.org), a non-profit organization serving families and the ex-gay community, has opened registration for its second annual Ex-Gay Awareness Month Conference in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 3-4.
PFOX is offering early bird tickets for $89 through Sept. 1; regular price after Sept. 1 will be $99.
The two-day conference will feature lobbying on Capitol Hill on Oct. 3 for those interested in visiting their legislators in support of ex-gays and individuals with unwanted same-sex attractions. A training seminar will be offered on Friday morning in preparation for the day of lobbying.
Then from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 3, international worship leader Dennis Jernigan will perform his music and premiere his new film about his life and leaving homosexuality called, “Sing Over Me.” Hors d’oeuvres will be served, followed by a Q&A session with Jernigan.
The all-day conference and luncheon on Oct. 4 will celebrate the lives of former homosexuals and will include a panel discussion with parents and friends of ex-gays and gays, led by PFOX Executive Director Regina Griggs.
“We are so excited for our second annual conference in Washington, D.C., this October,” Griggs said. “What an honor it will be to help tell the story of parents and friends of ex-gays and help provide support and resources to the ex-gay community. PFOX recently unveiled its new web site to serve as an encouraging resource for parents and friends who are supporting an ex-gay or gay family member.
Found online at www.pfox.org, the site aims to provide help and support to ex-gays and their family and friends as they live out their daily lives. PFOX believes knowledge is power and wants to keep the community informed of the latest news concerning ex-gays and the ex-gay community by disseminating accurate information and debunking misconceptions about ex-gays and same-sex attraction.
PFOX is a national non-profit organization that supports families and educates the public on sexual orientation and the ex-gay community. PFOX supports an inclusive environment for the ex-gay community and works to eliminate negative perceptions and discrimination against former homosexuals by conducting public education and outreach to further individual self-determination and respect for all Americans, regardless of sexual orientation.
PFOX believes that every person seeking positive life change needs and deserves the love and support of friends, family, the community and the church and strives to offer a place for help, a place for truth, and a place for the ex-gay to participate in the conversation about same-sex attraction.
PFOX families love their homosexual child unconditionally, believing that true love is granted in spite of our differences by treating each other with kindness and respect. Each year, thousands of men and women with unwanted same-sex attractions make the personal decision to leave a gay identity through gender-affirming programs, including counseling, support groups, faith-based ministries and other non-judgmental environments.

Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to support families and educate the public on sexual orientation and the ex-gay community.
